Put the working machine above the heat source

Add fuel to a furnace, then place the heat-consuming production machine above it. For automatic refilling, run a conveyor from a fuel box into the furnace input.

Open the Heating Calculator, enter your Stone Furnace and Blast Furnace counts, and add the devices that will consume heat. Match the selected fuel to the fuel supplied by your factory.

Cold machines and changing heat demand

What should I inspect when a furnace-fed machine stops?
Check the fuel supply and the machine position above the furnace. Trace the refilling belt from its fuel box to the furnace input, then compare the active heat consumers with the furnace and fuel settings in the heat plan.
What changed about standby heat?
The update removed the base heat cost of heating devices. Size the working production line around its active heat consumers instead of adding the old idle base cost.
How can heat reach other factory floors?
Place a Steam Boiler above a furnace. It converts heat into high-pressure steam with an adjustable output rate. Pipes can collect that steam into a shared header and carry it to the floors where power is needed.

Watch how Steam Boilers feed pipes and distribute steam between floors.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
