Turn spare products into knowledge
Feed items into a Knowledge Altar to gain experience and raise your Knowledge Level. Since 1.0, the altar accepts any item; Relics grant additional experience.
A Knowledge Altar costs 24 Stone to build. Its role is to break down items into alchemical knowledge.
Build an experience loop
- Produce relics, sell the portion needed for shop income, and feed the remaining relics to the Knowledge Altar. Spare ordinary items can also become experience.
- Spend the resulting skill points on the bottleneck you are facing. Customer Management is a useful early choice because it improves quest rewards; Fertilization Efficiency becomes useful when fertilizer demand grows.
- During the middle stages, increase Logistics Efficiency and Factory Efficiency together, a point at a time: the former improves belt speed, while the latter changes machine and cauldron speed and heat behavior.
Choose upgrades and recover wasted points
- Which upgrades help when advanced production becomes expensive?
- Fuel Efficiency lowers fuel costs and becomes useful around Blast Potions and Paradox Crucibles. Alchemy improves Alembic and Extractor output, helping production chains that depend on those devices.
- When should I prioritize Relic Knowledge?
- Relic Knowledge increases the experience gained from consuming relics. It becomes especially useful when feeding higher relics such as Venus, Mercury, Luna and Sol into the altar; Alchemy is another late-game priority when Alembic output limits the potion chains.
- Can I reset an unsuitable upgrade allocation?
- You can reset your upgrade points repeatedly. The price rises with repeated resets until it reaches a maximum of 10 Gold, so account for the reset cost before reallocating.
