Choose the layout by transport rate

Keep each shared overhead bus line within the default conveyor capacity of 60 items per minute. Press Tab and open World Overview to check how quickly the line is operating.

For a local chain, connect machines according to their input and output rates. A 30-per-minute plank output can feed three consumers using 10 per minute each, while adding more than two 30-per-minute saw outputs to one 60-per-minute belt clogs the line and prevents optimal production.

An overhead route also needs vertical transport and supported upper floors. Each Conveyor Lifter costs 1 Plank and 1 Linen Rope and can move items upward or downward.

Lifts and supported upper floors

How do I place and correct a Conveyor Lifter?
Align the bottom first, hold left click, drag the top to the required height, and press R while holding to rotate the top before releasing. Press T to reverse its direction and change the input side. A lift can extend to any height you have materials for, but stacking another shaft creates a separate lift instead of extending the first.
How should I support an elevated bus floor?
Place walls or pillars beneath upper floors and keep pillar positions identical on every level because support is calculated down to the ground. Removing a supporting wall also removes the connected floors and walls above it. Press T when quarter floors are more suitable for the layout.
